We are going to focus this topic on the recent proposed AI legislation in Oklahoma. This entire module is very much focused on hot-off-the-presses news! If the state of the local legislation changes or we get one of our outside speakers in to talk about it, I will adjust the schedule accordingly.
Assignment 1
Let’s first read an overview of why state and local municipalities are starting to do AI legislation. I am unaware that the City of Norman is doing any but I’d be glad to add that to the reading, if someone knows of any such pending policies or legislation!
In September 2023, the Oklahoma Governor created a taskforce to study AI and emerging technologies and they made recommendations in December 2023.
